This mix was first recorded as a door-prize for "You Wot?", a series of small parties herself and I threw a few years ago, then shopped around as a demo for DJ gigs at seemingly sympatico bars {ignored spectacularly by the chap who ran "Play" at Danny's - thanks, guy} and is an unsuccessful attempt to document one of my favorite musical trends in recent years, the convergence of indie rock and electronics. The conceit falls apart about halfway through, when I chase Manual with Sigur Ros, sacrificing thematic unity for a melodic arrangement. You look up about a half hour in and recognize that old perineal tugging; you're listening to fuck music. I can't lay claim to being a sussed reporter of genre stylings, but I'm happy to help you and your partner while away a lazy afternoon on the couch. Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite efforts {that Dntel/Languis match is one of the best random mixing epiphanies I've ever had. They feel like two halves of the same song}. If you'd like a hard copy of this mix, you can email me at aleph at this domain. The whole MP3 is also available for download {right-clicks preferred}.
